Jerry Cohen has been buying and selling Arts & Crafts since 1976, when he opened The Mission Oak Shop in Oakland, California. He moved the shop to Connecticut in 1989 and in 1991 opened The Antiques Marketplace, a 22,000 square foot antiques mall and catalyst for the redevelopment of Putnam's downtown as an antiques shopping district. In 1985 he co-founded, with Michael Adams, Aurora Studios, a high-end studio devoted to the production of hand crafted hammered copper Arts & Crafts lighting. In 1995 he founded Craftsman Auctions, which merged with David Rago's Arts & Crafts Auctions in September 2000. He is a member of American Bungalow magazine's Advisory Board and has written articles for the magazine. He founded the Putnam Traveler newspaper, in Putnam, CT in 2003, sits on its Board and writes articles for the paper. His store, The Mission Oak Shop is located in The Antiques Marketplace, at 109 Main Street in Putnam. He is actively buying and selling furniture, metalwork, art, lighting, and pottery from the Arts & Crafts period and welcomes all buying and selling related inquiries.
